Grocery collection for people in need
Are you doing your grocery shopping at Runaway Bay Centre in the weekend? On SATURDAY 4 JULY and on SATURDAY 1 AUGUST we are running a dedicated donation drive from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Runaway Bay Shopping Centre to prepare for our Community Outreach events to support those doing it tough.
It is simple: as you walk the aisles for your weekly shop, just add one or two non-perishable items to your trolley. Drop them off at our collection point on your way out, and you will be directly helping us stock up on the essential groceries needed to support local families and people in need through our community support events.
Pick one, two or as many items as you like from our shopping list below and as you do your shop, just add them to your trolley. Drop your items off at our collection point in the Runaway Bay Shopping Centre and we’ll make sure your donated items will go to those needing it most.
Event Details
The Goal: Gathering groceries now so our community programs are fully stocked and ready to deliver support.
When: SATURDAY 04/07 and SATURDAY 1 AUGUST 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Where: Runaway Bay Centre (Look for our collection team near the supermarkets)
SHOPPING LIST
We are focusing on non-perishable goods that are easy to store and distribute. We appreciate items that are individual serves but anything is welcome. Please consider adding any of the following to your shopping list:
- Pantry Staples: Pasta, rice, couscous, and long-life pasta sauces.
- Canned Goods: Hearty soups, stews, canned vegetables, beans, and canned fruit.
- Breakfast Items: Cereals, oats, long-life milk, and spreads (peanut butter, jam).
- Quick Meals & snacks: Two-minute noodles, microwave rice pouches, muesli bars, school snack bars, fruit rolls/bars, up&go, tuna/cheese&crackers, popcorn individual bags,
- Personal Care: Toiletries, soap, toothpaste, and feminine hygiene products.
Can’t make it on those dates? Drop your donations off at one of our drop-off points!
