People learning how to repair something they thought was broken forever.
Laughter. Coffee. Community and fun!

Serve the City is partnering with the Griffith University Repair Café to bring a morning of community, repair and connection to Brisbane’s Griffith campuses.

We’re looking for volunteers who can help repair treasured items while enjoying great social time and connecting with students and the local community.

🌿 What Happens at a Repair Café?

Repair Cafés are community events where people bring items that need fixing and sit down with volunteers to see what can be repaired.

Some repairs are quick wins.
Others take teamwork and creativity.

Either way, there’s always learning, laughter, and connection.

The Griffith University Repair Café is a sustainability initiative that helps give new life to items that might otherwise be thrown away. Repair Cafés encourage people to see their possessions in a new light, reduce waste, and bring back valuable repair skills while building stronger communities.

We’re also looking for friendly volunteers who help make the morning run smoothly — welcoming people, helping with registrations, setting up and packing down, and lending a hand where needed. If you enjoy creating a warm, welcoming space, you’re one of the shining lights that make the Repair Café special.
