This Christmas season, we want to remind every person we serve that they are seen, valued, and not alone. A simple handwritten card can bring joy, encouragement, and warmth to someone who may be facing a difficult time.

Join us in spreading kindness through Christmas Cards of Hope!

We’re inviting individuals, families, schools, clubs, and community groups across the city to write cards filled with uplifting messages, festive cheer, and love. These cards will be delivered to the people Serve the City supports — including those experiencing homelessness, people in shelters, isolated seniors, refugees, and anyone who could use a little extra hope this year.

This is a fantastic activity for families, a great way for children to learn about kindness, and perfect for classrooms, youth groups, workplaces, and clubs who want to make a positive impact together.

How it works:

  1. Write a card — add a friendly message, artwork, or encouraging words.

  2. Keep it positive and inclusive — no assumptions about beliefs or circumstances.

  3. Drop off your card(s) at our designated collection points. You can find those here.
Or bring them to upcoming Serve the City event on Saturday 29 November.

Together, we can help make the holidays brighter for our neighbors in need.
Small gestures can make a big difference — especially at Christmas. ❤️

Let’s serve hope, one card at a time. 🎄✨
